Man Weaving Cane

Man Weaving Cane photo by: Anja Disseldorp

In and out, in and out.
Line after line,
Branch after branch.
Into one solid sheet.

In and out, in and out.
His fingers move quickly, wisely
Tying the cane together in
A never-ending pattern.

In and out, in and out.
The more he makes,
The more he gets.
A little extra for his family.

In and out, in and out.
The weaver makes a living.
Each sheet strong and sturdy,
The definition of perfection.

In and out, in and out.
The sheets are like his life.
Steady, tough, flexible, malleable,
All important, all equal.

In and out, in and out,
Back aching, body sweating,
The weaver labors away,
Even closer he gets to finishing.

In and out, in and out.
The weaver weaves away,
Never ceasing, never slowing,
Sunrise to sunset, everyday.

Note:
Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve written anything. But, it was a Monday night and I didn’t have a final to study for so I was scrolling trough Tabitha’s blog (her Art Thursday section, of course!) and saw this picture and just knew I had to write something about it!
